The Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency is proud to host small groups of writers, published and unpublished, to meet one on one with a top editor from a major New York City publishing house in a conference room at our office to hear your work individually critiqued, and to also receive a written critique.  These evenings have a limit of twelve participants, so that each attendee receives personal attention. 

 

Author/illustrators, children’s writers, tweens and teen writers, as well as adult fiction writers will all have that rare chance to get their work in front of an editor.  These intimate evenings provide a venue to have ten pages of your work reviewed (five pages from two manuscripts or ten pages from one) and critiqued.  You’ll get valuable insight about the way editors approach an author’s work and what it takes to move your book from your desk to an editor’s office.  You’ll also see your work from the editor’s point of view and learn how to improve your writing.  Because each evening will feature a different editor from a wide variety of houses, you’ll have many opportunities to choose the editor and publishing house that could be a good fit for your book.  You can attend more than one evening which is a great way to hear different viewpoints of your work.
